Contents:

This is a Czech, rhymed poem containing an allegorical call on the members of the Unitas Fratrum and the Czech evangelical emigration as a whole to believe in a better future. It is based on a well-known incident described in the Old Testament, which relates to the flight of the Jews from Egypt under Moses` leadership, and to their crossing of the Red Sea, when the pursuing Egyptian soldiery were drowned, but the pursued people of Israel freed. Here the Israelites are understood to represent the Unitas Fratrum, Pharaoh and the Egyptians the Habsburgs and their accomplices.
