Any person professing membership of an evangelical church; in the narrower sense, a member of a Lutheran or Calvinist church, in the broader sense a Protestant. All of these denominations arose out of the pan-European processes of the Reformation, which – to put it simply – were concerned with the improvement of the Church as an institution. The process of the Bohemian Reformation began with Hussitism, and reached its zenith in the Unitas Fratrum.
