Origin of the work:
1658 Amsterdam
Editions:
1658 Nuremberg
Contents:
A second work consisting of extensive extracts from Scripture, in this case from the New Testament, building on the earlier Janua sive Introductorium in Biblia sacra (The Gate or an Introduction to Holy Scripture, the Introductorium in Biblia).
In the same fashion as the first work, the second too was intended for the religious and moral education of youths and as an introduction to readings from the Bible. The texts of both parts were altered in line with the Czech text of the Manualník, this having been compiled by Comenius many years earlier, but are not identical with it.
