Contents:
This is an outline of requirements aimed towards realising ecclesiastical reform. It is preserved in a copy of the original manuscript made by an unknown copyist, and found among the Hartlib Papers (Samuel Hartlib). In it, Comenius calls for the correction of the church, which he regards as a path to world peace. People should be educated into following God’s Light. They will find its reflection in their own awareness, in nature, and in the revealed truth of Scripture. The reconciliation of the churches, the reform of schools in England and an understanding of things would be steps towards such pacific education. In many ways this work is similar to the Via Lucis (the Way of Light), which may be explained by Comenius’ having begun to write the latter either at the same time or only slightly later.
